Bangladesh has suffered a heavy defeat against Sri Lanka in the Sylhet Test. The hosts faced a significant setback on their home ground. Despite this disappointment, Bangladesh will take to the field in the second and final Test of the series on March 30th. However, there is some good news for the Bangladesh team as they have received a bit of relief. There has been an improvement in the latest ICC rankings for the players who participated in the Sylhet Test, namely Mominul Haque and Khaled Ahmed.

Mominul has made a significant jump in the Test batsmen rankings. He played an undefeated innings of 87 runs in the second innings of the Sylhet Test. As a result, he has climbed eight steps in the rankings. He now occupies the 50th position in the Test batsmen's list, with a rating points of 519.

In addition, Khaled has also made significant progress in ICC Test ranking following the Sylhet Test by taking four wickets in both innings, and advancing nine positions. He now occupies the 89th position in the top 100 Test bowlers' list, with a rating of 228 points. However, his career-best rating was 231 before this.

Among the Test batsmen, New Zealand star Kane Williamson currently holds the top position. In the list of bowlers, the top spot is occupied by the Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Shakib Al Hasan has been included in the squad for the second Test in Chattogram. His presence will boost the morale of the welcoming team. However, at the same time, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha will not be with the team during the second Test. Due to personal reasons, Hathurusingha is traveling to Australia. Assistant coach Nick Pothas will take charge in his absence.
